Faith That Pleases God

Many of us can be too passive in our faith. We find ourselves just waiting for God, not realizing that He could be waiting on us to believe in Him and exercise our faith. Many miracles in the New Testament happened when someone whom needed a “touch from God” (instead of passively sitting around and hoping God would do “something”) stepped-out and acted in faith.

A certain woman, with an issue of blood, put her faith in action. She aggressively pushed through the masses, compelled by one thought: ‘If I could just touch King Jesus’. Her motive was not driven by a chance to see a celebrity, but by her faith that Jesus would heal her. She shoved her way near to Him and as she touched the fringe of His garment-she was instantly healed! Jesus immediately asked who touched Him, saying that He felt power go out from Him. This woman’s determination to reach Jesus, and her faith in Him, released the power that made her well (Luke 8:43-48).

Jesus said that we only needed to believe in order to see the glory of God (John 11:40). Isn’t that what we really want to see? God’s glory manifested in our lives and others? Beloved, sometimes it requires the same persistent faith that the woman with the issue of blood displayed. The book of Acts is filled with daring exploits of people that acted on their faith. They were rewarded with seeing the otherwise unbelievable. Can you imagine if they had been satisfied with only staying in the Upper Room?

Beloved, we have the right to say and think about ourselves the same way that God does. He loves us and created us in His image. It is time to see ourselves from God’s perspective and proclaim these faith declarations over our life-taking hold of our potential in Him and through Him. He says that we are more than conquers (Romans 8:37); that through Jesus we have overcome the world (1 John 5:4); and that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).

Jesus said: “… I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)

Beloved, faith is a gift of God (1 Corinthians 12:9) but we must nourish it through feeding on His Word. The writer of Hebrews said, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him.” (Hebrews 11:6). We need to examine ourselves and break out of spiritual passivity; breaking into the realm of aggressive faith in order to go deeper in God.

Begin today: thinking with a faith mindset, speaking with words of faith, and then acting upon your faith.
