“For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because of your name as followers of Christ, truly I say to you, he will not lose his reward” (Mark 9:41).
“In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’” (Acts 20:35).
Jesus talked a lot about being a faithful steward of the resources that we have. This requires each of us to evaluate ourselves in every area of our life and ask the Lord – “Father, am I honoring you with my talents, treasure, and time?”
Beloved, this includes glorifying the Lord with the wealth in our possession when we pass. Some of us honor God with our tithes and offerings now, but many have not made a plan to honor the Lord with our finances when we go home.
How can we do this? By constructing a will or an estate plan that designates a portion of our estate to a soul winning ministry.
August is National Make-A-Will month, and I am pleased to announce a new partnership with the organization FreeWill that I believe can help you continue to build the kingdom after your passing. FreeWill is a user-friendly estate planning tool that confidentially guides you through the process of creating a will. Beloved, this really resonated with me because it provides a way believers can continue to impact the world for Jesus, even after we’re gone. This tool, FreeWill, is Straightforward, easy to use, and totally free.
Your decision to honor the Lord when you pass helps ensure that the Gospel is preached to the next generation. And by helping to send the gospel to the ends of the Earth, you are preparing the way for Jesus’ return.
We must continue the fight, we must continue to believe, and we must continue to be His witnesses upon the earth – until He returns!
