The True Meaning

Share this:

“Like the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell on my face” (Ezekiel 1:28).

Some of you may be wondering why I am so determined and insistent on confronting the LGBTQ community. And is the rainbow really that important? I hope that by sharing its divine origin and nature, it will help you to not only understand my position and call, but also encourage you “get on board.” Beloved, the proper place where the rainbow belongs is with us, God’s children.

First, all the colors of the rainbow are contained in white light. When white light from the sun hits rain, the water droplets in the rain act as a prism that divides the white light by bending its wavelengths. The different wavelengths create the colors you see in a rainbow.

God Himself is light (1 John 1:5) and all colors have their origin in white light. This gives us a sense of how beautiful God is. Think about what the Earth would look like without color. It would be lifeless. The rainbow and all its colors are an expression of our Creator’s unimaginable beauty.

There are 7 colors that make up a rainbow. This is no coincidence. The number 7 has special meaning in the Bible—God created the Earth in 7 days, Noah took 7 sets of every clean animal into the ark, the temple menorah has seven candles, and the Book of Revelation is filled with the number 7— seven stars, seven seals, seven trumpets, seven Spirits of God, and more!

There are actually 3 primary colors in a rainbow: red, yellow, and blue. Three is another significant number in Scripture. When you are baptized, it is done in the name of the triune God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit); Yeshua rose on the third day! The ancient temple had three sections (the outer court, the holy place, and the Holy of Holies), and there are 3 patriarchs of the Hebrew Bible (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob).

Beloved, the rainbow is a sacred symbol established by God as a sign of His everlasting love for and covenant with you and I. The rainbow is not some emblem for the gay community to parade as their own.

“When the rainbow is in the cloud, then I will look at it, to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” Genesis 9:16

When someone creates something, they own it. The rainbow was created by God. He has the copyright, patent, and exclusive permit of use for His purpose. It is time for us to stand together, arm in arm to create a movement. This movement is about more than just the rainbow it is about God’s people being an army that stands against and opposes unrighteousness.

“And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.” Revelation 4:3
