At the pool called Bethesda many gathered who were sick, blind, and lame. One particular man who was there had been ill for 38 years. (John 5:3 and 5) When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been there a very long time in that condition, He said to him, “Do you wish to get well?”

Now that is kind of a mind-bender, isn’t it? Think about it. Here is this man who has been sick for 38 years and Jesus approaches him and says to him, “Sir, do you wish to get well?” It would kind of be like asking a man who had been lost in the desert for over 30 years- “Would you like me to show you the way out?”

But you know what the truth is? We might not really want to get well. Sometimes we allow ourselves to get so comfortable with our state of misery and darkness, that we have almost made it our friend. Darkness has silently and stealthily become our “security blanket.”

So, before Jesus could heal this man, He had to get him into agreement with life.

Beloved, you might be struggling right now with sadness, loneliness, or physical pain. You may have been unhappy from your earliest memory. Perhaps you grew up in a family and there was a spirit of depression in your home. Spirits are oftentimes generational and run through families. This is why oftentimes we hear people say, “I don’t want to be like my dad,” or “I don’t want to be like my mom.” And often they end up just like them.

Why? Because they were raised under a spirit and the spirit continues to be passed on through the family. If today you’re at a place where you are saying to yourself: “I wish I was not depressed. I do not want to be down all the time. I wish I was not feeling lonely all the time.” Know that, Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart. He is wanting to bring you out of your darkness and into His light, but He has to get you into agreement first. Yeshua wants to bless you with supernatural recovery, but you have to make up your mind. You have to make a decision of your will.

Are you so sick and tired of being in the condition that you are in that you will say to Yeshua, “Enough is enough. Jesus, I do want to get well. Please make me whole.”

Now take a hold of Him by faith and receive His healing, restoration, and peace into your life and you will have super natural recovery!
