Dogs have a special, endearing affect on me. I love their eyes that look up at me with innocence and unconditional love. Even when I wake up looking unkempt in the morning, they will still love me and seek my love. They look to me to care for and lead them.
Recently, I had a restless night with numerous thoughts and concerns running through my mind. Suddenly the LORD imparted to me a vision of myself as a precious beloved puppy dog. I was sitting with my energetic tail wagging behind me looking up at the LORD, my Father. With my gaze locked upon my Beloved, trustworthy Master, He said to me, “Sit, stay.” In this vision, my energy was harnessed, and my gaze locked upon my Master to receive His love, forgiveness, and almighty care. I let go of all distracting thoughts, and I felt loved, cared for, and peaceful.
The LORD knows our fleshly impulses and the temptations that constantly surround us. He knows the concerns and fears that bombard our minds. He knows that without His discipline we are like a puppy dog that runs wildly without a trainer. In love and compassion Father repeatedly calls us to attention, “Sit, stay.” Beloved, with discipline, refocus upon your Master. Receive His love, forgiveness and direction, and be obedient.
“The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace,
because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him, I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16
