Revelation Through The Gift Of Faith

Share this:

While in college, my friend saw a poster on my wall with Hebrews 11:1 on it: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” He asked me, with disdain in his voice, “What does that even mean?!” I looked up and read it, and though originally it had strong meaning to me (with its picture of Olga Korbut, my favorite gymnast, leaping in the air with strength and conviction), at that moment, during a season of doubt and walking apart from the Holy Spirit, I could not discern what it meant. My atheist friend and I sought to understand the Scripture without consulting with the Spirit of God, and clearly the things of God could not be grasped through cognition alone. Comprehension and revelation of the LORD and His Word come through communion with the Holy Spirit and receiving His revelation. This truly is a gift of the LORD. How ironic that the Scripture we failed to understand was the Scripture that spoke of how we need faith, which comes through revelation, in order to believe and comprehend the LORD, His Word, and His promises! If you, or others you know, are struggling to comprehend the LORD and His Word, pray for the LORD to
impart the gift of faith and revelation. Breakthrough is sure to follow!

“Jesus replied, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.’” Matthew 16:17

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God” Ephesians 2:8
