When walking through a grocery store, we see employees and customers focused upon their tasks at hand. On the surface each person appears to be at peace and carefree. Teenage girls who have altered their appearance through tanning, eyebrow or lip alterations, and the application of makeup, etc., seem to display joy, pride and confidence. But Beloved, look again, because today what we see frequently deceives us not only because of make-up and cosmetic surgeries, but because of the technologically altered images we receive on our Smart phones. Persons we encounter every day appear to be under control, but what lurks under the surface is a multitude of fears, insecurities, and anxious thoughts of never being good, smart or beautiful enough. Without refocusing to see what is operating in the unseen world we miss opportunities to reach out and deeply impact and transform those we encounter every day.
O LORD, help us to forcefully shift into walking in Your Spirit throughout our day! When encountering others, awaken us to what lurks below the surface. With revelation, release Your Spirit-filled words to impact and transform Your sons and daughters.
Thank You, Father, that by recentering upon Your Holy Spirit that dwells within me, I hear and feel Your still, small, peaceful voice. By practicing Your Presence, I settle into my own peace that passes the world’s understanding, and I enjoy communion with You. In Your Spirit I see the truth and the needs of others, and You equip me to freely release Your love, life and light into the deceptive world that surrounds me.
But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak … John 16:13
