People have come to Kakuma to escape war, genocide, and violence. However, life as a refugee is very challenging. Tents cover this desert town and daily temperatures exceed 100 degrees daily. There is no running water, no toilets, no stable food supply (which is causing malnutrition), diseases, and little hope.
In Kakuma, we encountered a “mad man” who ran around naked, throwing rocks at cars and terrorizing the entire village. The whole region knew who he was. After I prayed for him, God powerfully set him free! Once the people saw this man was delivered, I asked, “If you’ve never received Jesus and want to do so right now, raise your hand.” As I did a sea of hands rose up in front of me. Over 500 people received Jesus. Glory to God!
