People have come to Kakuma to escape war, genocide, and violence. However, life as a refugee is very challenging. Tents cover this desert town and daily tem- peratures exceed 100 degrees daily. There is no running water, no toilets, no stable food supply (which is causing malnutrition), diseases, and little hope.
In Kakuma, we encountered a “mad man” who ran around naked, throwing rocks at cars and terrorizing the entire village. The whole region knew who he was. After I prayed for him, God powerfully set him free! Once the people saw this man was delivered, I asked, “If you’ve never received Jesus and want to do so right now, raise your hand.” As I did a sea of hands rose up in front of me. Over 500 people received Jesus. Glory to God!
