“Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.”
— Isaiah 30:18
Beloved, we live in a culture today that is so experientially based that people often do not spend the time to grow deep roots in the Word of God. So as soon as their circumstances or experiences change, they struggle in their faith and wonder if God really cares about them. This is why we need more than just an emotional experience with God. We cannot be satisfied with just going to church for a touch from the Father; we must root ourselves in His Word so we can walk in the light of the truth even when we don’t feel anything emotionally.
Sometimes when we face challenges in life, we can begin to think God has abandoned or forgotten us. Some people are even afraid of God, thinking He is mad at them and is going to pour out His wrath on them and send them to hell. But Isaiah 30:18 says the Lord longs to be gracious to us. God is tenderhearted. The enemy, Satan, is called the accuser of the brethren (Rev. 12:10). But God does not accuse us. God is gracious. He loves us. If we could have saved ourselves, Jesus would not have had to come. But Father God had mercy on us. He looks at us with compassion, and He is just waiting for us to reach out to Him in confidence that He loves us.
I want you to know that Jesus died for you because the Father loves you and wants to bring you close to Himself. Reach out to God today in confidence that He loves you.
Father God, in Yeshua’s name I take authority over all forms of demonic oppression that would keep me from having confidence in Your love for me. I reject every lie that is telling me You are mad at me when in fact You love me and long to be gracious to me. You wait on high to have compassion on me. I will walk in the truth of Your Word and not let my emotions dictate what I believe about Your love for me.
