HaShem’s Love Is Your Portion

Share this:

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
—Psalm 73:26

In today’s verse, the psalmist is telling us that in those times in life when we run out of steam, when we have no power to continue, we should not fear because God is our strength and the portion of our lives. Isn’t this an awesome thing to know? When we feel we have no more energy, the Lord will raise us up.

How do I know that? Second Timothy 2:13 says, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.” When Israel felt they were alone in the wilderness and could not help themselves, the glory of God appeared in a cloud (Exod. 16:10), and you have a cloud of glory that is with you wherever you go. It is the Ruach HaKodesh, the mighty Spirit of God.

Because of your relationship with HaShem, you have a divine engine within you, so even when your heart and flesh fail, there’s a life force within you that will keep you going, restore you, refresh you, and cause you to rise up out of the ashes.

Romans 8:11 tells us that “if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Elect one of God, you cannot be defeated. You’re going to be raised out of every circumstance that threatens to overwhelm you. You’re going to be brought out of it victoriously every single time because the same power that raised Yeshua from the dead lives in you!

Even when your flesh fails you, you have One living inside you who is your strength, and He is only going to lift you back up. “Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand” (Ps. 37:24, niv). Let’s grab hold of this truth today—the love of God is our portion, and love cannot fail us.

Father God, I’m thankful that although my flesh gets weak, You are my strength. Your love is my portion. I receive the truth that even if I stumble, I will not completely fall because You uphold me with Your hand. Father, I declare that I will not be defeated, because the same Spirit who raised Yeshua from the dead—the Ruach HaKodesh— lives in me.
