“It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.”
— Isaiah 65:24
No matter how faint our cries may be, God always hears us. This is such an amazing truth. Prayer is simply reaching out to God; it can be the loudest shout or the softest whisper. Whether you reach out to Him in your heart, in your mind, or with your voice raised, He hears it all.
First Peter 3:12 says, “For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and His ears attend to their prayer.” Whenever we call upon Him, He answers, but we must be seeking to live in a way that is pleasing to Him. We must choose to live righteously.
That doesn’t mean we have to be perfect. If we had to be perfect, no one would be able to talk to God, because we all have sinned and fallen short of God’s standards. God understands that we are not perfect and has compassion on us, but He does expect us to be on a journey in Him to perfection. We just need a big yes in our hearts. We just need to be putting one foot in front of the other every day, moving forward in our relationship with God, being quick to repent when we do something wrong, and steadily conquering the darkness and the flesh that want to overwhelm and control our lives. As long as you are making progress, you are a success.
God hears you, beloved. So take heart. God loves you, He is listening, and He will answer when you call out to Him.
Father God, thank You for hearing me, whether I shout or whisper. Father, may I never doubt that You not only hear but also will answer my prayers.
