A truth encounter begins when we realize that a lie is trying to gain—or has already gained—our agreement and acceptance. This happens when the Holy Spirit exposes the enemy’s deceptions so that we can overcome.
Please listen carefully:
If you’re walking around under a cloud of self-accusation, rejection, or sadness, understand that this— is not God’s will for your life. Contrary to the secular worldview, this isn’t something that can be fully explained or cured by natural means. The root issue is spiritual. The devil is real. He is the father of lies and is determined to see us fall. He bombards believers with false accusations, self-deprecating thoughts, and harsh self-judgments. These are some of his most common and destructive tactics.
Bottom line—Satan is the accuser of the brethren.
“…the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.” Revelation 12:10
So if you’re entertaining negative thoughts about yourself, they must be confronted. First, it’s crucial to identify any lies you’ve accepted, and then actively counter them by declaring and believing the truth of God’s Word. We must confront the devil’s lies with the eternal truth of Scripture!
A truth encounter demands confrontation and an attitude that says, “That is not who I am.”
Start fighting back by declaring:
“I reject you, Satan. You’re a liar. Get out of my mind. I am precious to God. Thank You, Father, that I’m so valuable to You that You sent Jesus, Your Son, to die on the cross and purchase me for Yourself. You love me. I am treasured, beautiful, and deeply valued by You. From this moment forward, I will no longer listen to Satan. I reject every lie, deception, and accusation he’s thrown at me. I shut down his voice right now. I know who I am in Christ. You lose, devil! Amen.”
NEXT: To overcome we must be careful to not judge others.
Yeshus said, “Do not judge so that you will not be judged” (Matthew 7:1).
Maybe you’re noticing a spirit of accusation toward others in your life. That, too, brings bondage. If you find yourself feeling hateful, judgmental, or critical toward others, recognize where that spirit is coming from. We must be willing to identify and confront the demonic energy operating in our lives
Remember, Satan is the accuser. We must reject that spirit and refuse to allow it to operate in and through us. When we break its influence over our thoughts and words—when we stop casting judgment, making accusations, or harboring ill will—we will experience freedom, cleansing, and the refreshing presence of the Holy Spirit.
Ask the Father to lead you into a truth encounter.
