They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces will never be ashamed.
—Psalm 34:5, emphasis added
The “they” David is referring to in today’s verse is you and me—God’s elect children, whom He chose to be His own even before the foundation of the world. We are destined to be radiant, and our faces will ultimately never be ashamed.
Of course, that doesn’t mean we won’t have battles to fight. As long as we are in this world, the powers of darkness will resist us. In fact, Yeshua talked about overcoming seven times in Revelation 2 and 3. In one example, Yeshua said, “He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.”
Overcoming requires action, determination, and a focus on Yeshua and Father God. But as we keep our eyes on Him, He will lead us to victory, and we will become radiant. We will emanate a light that will be obvious to all who see us.
Beloved one, we will not be put to shame. We are more than conquerors in Yeshua! The Lord says, “Kings will be your guardians, and their princesses your nurses. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth and lick the dust of your feet; and you will know that I am the Lord; those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to shame.”
