YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER

“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
— John 16:33

God never promised that we wouldn’t face hard times. In fact, the opposite is true. Jesus said in the world we will have trouble. But He went on to say we should be of good cheer, for He has overcome the world.

Some of us are trying to be of good cheer by controlling everything, thinking we can protect ourselves from life’s difficulties, but that’s not possible because we live in a world full of darkness and chaos. While Jesus never promised we wouldn’t face hardship, what He did promise is that we will overcome every battle we’ll ever have to face. And not only that, but we’ll “overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.”

That means you’re not going to just get through. You’re not going to just survive and grit your teeth and hope for the best. You’re going to be overwhelmingly victorious in every struggle and difficulty. We might not feel triumphant in the moment, but those who truly have set their minds on Christ Jesus will be able to look back on their lives and see that God used everything they went through for good. Beloved one, at the end of the day, we are going to transcend every obstacle. Our lives carry the sweet aroma of the victory of Messiah Yeshua.
