WALK ON WATER

Share this:

And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water.
—Matthew 14:29

You may be familiar with the story of Peter walking on water. In this account, when Jesus told him to come, Peter stepped out of the boat and, keeping his eyes on Yeshua, did what was humanly impossible. But then Peter began to feel the wind blowing and saw the waves raging, which he allowed to take his focus off Messiah Yeshua. As a result, he began to sink.

Many of us in this age will probably never physically walk on water, but we can do the spiritual equivalent, which is to live above our circumstances. When Peter focused on Yeshua, he was able to live above the threat of the winds and the waves. It was only when he allowed the circumstances into his mind and heart that he became overwhelmed and sank. Every day, you and I are in a similar battle. Yeshua is saying to us, “Come. Keep your head up and your eyes and heart fixed on Me, and you will overcome every obstacle.”

When we face relationship struggles, problems at work, battles with our health, and so many other issues on this side of glory, we can experience supernatural victory and avoid sinking as we stay focused on God, His Word, and His Spirit in the midst of the winds and waves of life. You too like Peter will walk on water in this world as you stay in faith and keep your eyes on Him.
