Oh, the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor? Or who has first given to Him, that it would be paid back to him? For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:33-36

In pursuing to know and understand our Creator and our relationship to Him, we regularly hit roadblocks. For who can fully know and comprehend the ways of such an almighty, infinite Creator of all? My brother, hit one of these roadblocks when his wife was dying of cancer. Thousands of people were praying for Debbie, his wife, to be healed, and yet God did not heal her. Debbie kept getting weaker until she passed. Amid this tragic roadblock in understanding where and who God was, my brother cried out, with deep anger and fury, “Where is the love of God?!!” Immediately the Spirit of God responded by pointing straight down into his deepest heart and soul, stating, “It’s inside of you.” My brother wept and wept. Throughout all of Debbie’s pain, weakness, anger and suffering, he had tirelessly cared for her every need until the moment she passed in his bedroom. God had placed His great, servant love deep inside of my brother, and my brother knew it was real. 

At times we receive answers to our questions, but many times we do not. The LORD leaves us to live in a world of continual mysteries. In each roadblock to understanding, Abba, Father calls us to plunge into the depths of trusting Him with a childlike faith. He calls us to let go of our natural knowledge and understanding, to just rest in Him. Let’s rest, and let’s remember Yeshua’s glorious mysteries that He has already personally revealed to us.
