THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT

Share this:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction.
—2 Corinthians 1:3–4

Have you ever noticed that sometimes when you’re going through the hardest circumstances—for example, when you’ve suffered a great loss or when something happens that upends your life—the peace of God is more profound?

I remember years ago being thrown out of my parents’ house. My decision to follow Jesus caused a lot of division and chaos in my family. As you may know, it’s anathema in the Jewish community for a Jew to believe in Jesus. You would think it was devastating to be kicked out of my parents’ house, but the next day when I looked around, I felt like the entire world was bathed in a blanket of peace. I hardly have the words to describe it. Somehow God imparted His presence to me in such a way that it rewired my psyche so that the next day, everything I looked at was cover by an amazing, supernatural blanket of God’s love and peace.

Beloved one, we don’t know what we’re going to face in the future. We don’t know what difficulties may come our way, but I want to tell you this: God is going to be there. He will always be faithful to you, and He will always be with you to comfort you. You will overcome the world.
