She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
—Luke 10:39–42
It is essential that we spend time alone with God. Often we do not know what is going on in our soul because we are so busy and distracted. Whether it is work, relationships, or social media, we are so connected to the outside world that we are not always in touch with what is happening inside our hearts. But when we spend time alone with God, allowing Him access, we are forced to face what is going on inside.
Sometimes this can be painful, but we need to allow ourselves to feel our exhaustion, fear, and hopelessness, and then share it with the Father. He will come in and fill those places, and we will begin to rise up and be made whole.
Beloved one, let us give ourselves completely to the things that will bring us into a deeper relationship with Yeshua and avoid the things that will draw us away from Him.
