“As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?””
—Matthew 24:3

In today’s verse, the disciples were asking Jesus two questions: When are You going to return and what will be the signs of the end of the age? The answer to these questions is multidimensional. In Matthew 24, Jesus spoke of wars and rumors of wars; He spoke of famines; He spoke of people’s hearts growing cold. He also spoke of lawlessness increasing and of many people falling away from the faith. All these things are coming to pass.

So much of what Yeshua prophesied two thousand years ago is going on in the world right now! Again, we’re seeing in a very real way an escalation of events that point to Yeshua’s return—disasters, earthquakes, conflicts over nuclear weapons, chaos in politics, deadly disease spreading across the globe. Even the pollution of our air and waters points to the fact that things are growing darker year by year—Yeshua is setting the stage to return!

As to the disciples’ other question, “When, Yeshua, will You return,” Jesus said, “Behold, I am coming quickly” (Rev. 22:7). So I want to encourage you to look up. Get ready. Messiah Jesus is coming back, and He’s coming back for you and me. He wants us to remind ourselves of this. He wants us to live with a heavenly mindset, recognizing that this world is not our home. He wants us to live with a conscious awareness that even a cup of cold water given in His name will come with a reward.

He wants us to expect His return. God’s purpose is that every generation will anticipate Yeshua’s return in their lifetime. “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come’” (Rev. 22:17). Beloved, get ready. Jesus is coming soon, and He’s coming back for you and me.

I agree with the Holy Spirit and I say, “Come quickly, Lord Jesus. Come back to earth. Break in and deliver Your people from every bondage and from the power of darkness. Messiah Yeshua, establish God’s kingdom on the earth as it is in heaven in my lifetime.”
