But God, being rich in mercy…raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
— Ephesians 2:4, 6
Years ago before I was a believer, I went through a very difficult time. Although I was short growing up, I thought I would have a growth spurt and become tall like my cousins. But while in my late teens, I realized that wasn’t going to happen. I was stuck at five-five-and-a-half.
Because I didn’t know the Lord, this was a death blow to me. My spirit was crushed until I came to know Yeshua. Then I read that I was seated with Christ in heavenly places, and thought, “How much taller can I get than that?” I share this because many of us have been broken by life. We feel defeated by a spirit of inferiority, perhaps because of our income, our physical appearance, or things we were told growing up. But I want to remind you that you are a new creation and have been brought into supernatural unity with God through the blood of Yeshua. Now in the realm of the spirit, you are seated with Him in heavenly places. This means you’re above everything and are a permanent victor in God.
Beloved one, you are somebody. You’re not defined by your job, your stature, or what people say. What defines you is who God says you are, and He says you’re a champion in Him. You’re a winner. Lift your head and live like you believe Him!
