“For you are all sons [and daughters] of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”
— Galatians 3:26
Have you ever thought about the incredible truth that you are a child of God? For a lot of us, it’s easier to accept that Jesus died on the cross to forgive our sins than to believe we are God’s children. But the reality is that just as earthly parents are proud of their children and focus their love on them, so does our heavenly Father delight in us.
Because of Jesus, sin—the barrier that separated us from God—is gone forever, and we now are holy and blameless in Him. He now sees us as brand new, having all of our past failures erased by Yeshua’s blood. “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.” So when the Lord looks at you, He does not see you as a sinful person; Jesus took away your sins. Now, Father looks at you as His beloved child whom He continually delights in.
Just like any earthly father who loves his child, our heavenly Father may discipline us at times, but this does not change His love for us. Father God will always have our best interest at heart.
Beloved one, let’s get our identity from the One who gave His life for us. I want to encourage you to receive this truth today: you are God’s child, your Father delights in you, and His plans for you are far greater than anything you could imagine.
