“I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides Me there is no God. I will gird you, though you have not known Me.”
—Isaiah 45:5
God’s name, which is translated as “Lord” in today’s verse, is from what we call the tetragrammaton. It consists of the four Hebrew letters yud, hey, vav, and hey—YHWH, or Yahweh—and it carries with it the idea of “to be.” It conveys the concept of God as “who is and who was and who is to come” (Rev. 1:8). And there is no other God beside Him.
What the Lord is saying to you and me is that although we cannot see Him and are often not aware of Him, He is here and strengthening us. Beloved, God is alive. He is present and amongst us, wanting to breathe newness of life into you and me. Even as a river is constantly flowing and the water is always new, so is God always new and always moving, and He wants to work in your life today.
I want to challenge you today to believe this. Believe God for a miracle. Believe Him to do something new for you. The apostle Paul wrote that God “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Eph. 3:20, NKJV). Believe Him for more. Let Him raise Your expectations of what He can do in your life.
Ask Him to open your heart, and believe Him to change you. Yeshua came to live inside you. He came to set you free. Believe He is working in your life, guiding you and strengthening you—and as a result, you will be delivered and liberated. He wants to bring you into a greater victory over the powers of darkness that have been oppressing you.
Father God, help me to believe there is more— more strength, more power, more revelation, deeper intimacy, and a closer walk with You. Raise my expectation that You are going to do exceedingly abundantly above all I could ask or think according to the power that is at work in me. I ask, Father, that You bring me to a place of victory in every area of my life.
