For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
— 1 Peter 2:25
Some of us can relate to this verse. We once were in the world, doing things we knew were wrong. But now we have returned to Jesus, the guardian of our souls. Father God is challenging us today to not stray again—to resist the temptation to compromise again with the world.
Even though you love Jesus, you may find yourself drawn toward things you shouldn’t do and places you shouldn’t go. Don’t play games with God. Don’t meddle with the world. Jesus has more for you. Yeshua said He came to give us life and to give it more abundantly. But we can’t receive the fullness of the blessing He wants to give us until we separate ourselves unto Him.
Beloved one, Father has called us back to Himself. Let’s not put ourselves in relationships that will compromise our walk with Yeshua. Let’s not put ourselves in situations where we are tempted to engage in activities we were once addicted to. Let’s guard our relationship with Messiah Jesus. Stay in the center of His heart. Yeshua is the guardian of our souls. He has good plans and a good future for us. Let’s live in fidelity to the Lord so that He can bless us and do what He wants to do in our lives. “No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”
