“Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
—Genesis 28:15
This verse contains one of the most beautiful promises in Scripture. In these words spoken to Jacob is a promise for you and me. Yeshua said to you and me, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Heb. 13:5, NKJV), and God has promised us that He will complete the good work He began in us (Phil. 1:6). So you see, we really can apply this scripture the Father spoke to Jacob over our own lives as well.
You see, the Bible tells us that God is the author and the finisher of our faith (Heb. 12:2). Our Father is the Potter, we are the clay, and He is going to have His way in our lives (Isa. 64:8). The more we cooperate with Him, yield to Him, and put Him first, the easier the journey becomes and the faster the Father accomplishes His will in our lives.
Furthermore, Jesus said, “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matt. 28:20). Even as Father was with Jacob wherever he went, so too it is for us today. Make no mistake: wherever you go, God is there.
God is already here, and He is already there! Keep confessing and affirming this—not only when life is easy but through the hard times as well. As you do, the roots of your faith will grow deep, and you will drink more and more of the well of His eternal life.
Father God, thank You for being with me and keeping me wherever I go. Help me to surrender to You and cooperate with You so You can accomplish Your will in my life. Awaken in my heart an expectation that You will fulfill every promise You have made to me. I confess that the One who called me is faithful, and I know that You will complete the work You started in me. Thank You, Abba, for loving me. I love You, my daddy God.
