“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard.”

We can discover a lot about the nature of God and who He is by simply looking at His glory revealed in creation. Not long ago I visited Israel during the springtime, and all around me new life was emerging. The plants and flowers were absolutely gorgeous. With their vibrant orange, yellow, and purple colors, they were powerfully declaring the glory and beauty of God.

Israel is also a famous migration area; birds fly in and out of the country as they go from country to country. I saw so many beautiful, colorful birds—in blues, reds, greens, all the colors of the rainbow in different patterns— and they were shouting the glory of God.

God is beautiful. Don’t you love that about God? David said, “One thing have I desired, and that is to be in Your presence and to gaze upon Your beauty all the days of my life.” (See Psalm 27:4.) And I have found that if we choose to focus on His beauty, we will know and feel that He is with us.

Sometime back, the Lord specifically spoke to me in my sleep and said, “When you feel lonely, focus on My beauty, and you will know that I am with you and that I am real.” So, beloved, if you feel lonely today, just look out upon creation. Focus on something beautiful that God has created, and I am confident that you will perceive that God is much closer than you may have realized. God is speaking through His glory in the earth. Let’s listen.

Father, one thing do I desire of You, and that is to behold Your beauty and abide in Your presence. So many people feel alone in the world. As I see Your beauty in creation, help me to realize how close You are and how much You love me. Your Word declares that the heavens are telling of Your glory. Lord, help me to always be aware of Your beauty and glory, which You have revealed to me in the world around me.
