But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.
— John 4:14
Messiah Jesus is the water that saturates our souls and satisfies our deepest desires. But to experience this divine life, we must drink deeply of the Spirit.
Living a full Christian life takes more than being immersed in Christian culture; we must enter the supernatural realm of the Spirit. This is an individual journey. Just as God called Abraham to leave the familiar and go into a new land, so is God calling us to leave what we have known to follow His Spirit into something greater—the realm of eternity.
Entering into the heavenly realm of eternal life is a process. We must let God teach and train us to abide in Him and hear His voice. We must learn to trust and follow Him even when He’s leading us to do things that don’t make sense to us or that stretch us out of our comfort zones. But as we obey Him as Abraham did, we will enter a place in life that is full of light, fulfilling, and beautiful.
This is why Yeshua said, “It is the spirit who gives life.”1 As we keep drawing near to Him and from Him, we will be transformed. And as time goes by, we will become fuller, happier, and more content in Messiah Jesus.
