Created for One Purpose

“All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.”
—John 1:3

In this verse, John is declaring that Yeshua is the Creator. Now, that may seem confusing because we know that God the Father is greater than all. Romans 11:36, speaking of the Father, says, “From Him and through Him and to Him are all things.” But the Father created everything through His Word, and Yeshua is the Word.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God….And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us” (John 1:1, 14). These verses are powerful because they not only tell us that everything that has been created has come into being through Yeshua, but also that when Yeshua was lifted up on the cross, the Creator Himself was in Him. The Creator clothed Himself in humanity because of His love for those He created. He took our sin in His own body on the tree, and He did it to restore the pathway back to Himself, which was broken when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden.

This is the most important message in the world—we can be reconciled to God. The only way for you and me to be whole is to come into a relationship with the One who created us. It makes no sense to think we’re going to find meaning outside of Him, because the One who created us made us for Himself. So if we want to be whole, we need to return to Father God through His Son. That means not just believing in Him with our minds. Biblical faith involves not just agreement with truth, but doing what that truth commands us to do. (See John 14:23.)

Beloved, God created us for Himself. We will not find ultimate meaning outside of Him. Let’s get that straight and choose to walk down the straight-and-narrow path that leads to life.

Father God, You created me through Your Word, who is King Yeshua. From You, through You, and back to You are all things. I surrender to Your will and say yes to You today. I believe that my soul is only whole when it is united to You. I want to live in the fullness of Your purpose for creating me.
