Come Together

Share this:

“And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”
—Hebrews 10:24–25

I realize that some people for health and other reasons are not able to physically attend or be part of local congregations. I bless them, and I thank God for Christian television, live streaming, and other means available today that allow us to encourage, teach, and share the gospel with those who can’t leave home. But this verse is stressing the importance of assembling together with God’s people. It is vital that we fellowship with other believers.

Thanks to social media and various technology, this can be done even when people are not physically together. There are apps such as YouVersion that allow people to share prayer requests, and some churches offer online small groups. It is a rich experience to be physically assembled with other believers who love the Lord, but when that is not possible, the phone and other technology give us a way to stay connected with God’s people to study the Word together, share prayer needs, and talk about the things of the kingdom.

As the day of the Lord draws near and things on planet Earth get more difficult, we are going to need to be connected so we can keep one another encouraged in our faith. So be intentional about staying joined to and united with the body. I want to encourage you according to today’s verse to fellowship with other believers on a regular basis. This is important to Yeshua as well as for your own growth. Jesus said where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there in the midst of them (Matt. 18:20). That means there is an anointing that comes only when we’re in a corporate environment. So let’s gather together with God’s people on a regular basis to honor Yeshua, stay encouraged, grow, and be a blessing.

Father God, help me to make it a priority to fellowship with and stay connected to Your body.
