“The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said.””

There are two traditional sites in Israel that Christian tourists usually visit to remember Yeshua’s resurrection: the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which was built on the site where some people believe Jesus was crucified and buried, and the Garden Tomb, which others believe is an authentic site. Whether either of these places is exactly where Yeshua died, was buried, or rose from the dead is not important to me. What is important is that He did rise from the dead.

The fact of Yeshua’s resurrection is what our whole faith is built on. If Jesus had not risen from the dead, then we would still be dead in our trespasses and sins. God the Father raising Yeshua from the dead was the proof that God accepted Yeshua’s death on the cross as His provision for the forgiveness of sin.

The angel said in Matthew 28:6, “Why are you looking for Him? He has risen.” Paul named individuals that Yeshua appeared to after he rose from the dead, five hundred of whom were still alive at the time of Paul’s writing (1 Cor. 15:5–6). Beloved, the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is no fairy tale. Yeshua rose from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. And because Yeshua triumphed over death, we too have power and victory in His name.

I want you to know that because of Yeshua, you are an overcomer. Because of Messiah Jesus, you win!

King Jesus, thank You for securing my victory over sin, death, hell, and the grave through Your death and resurrection. You are so great and greatly to be praised. Because You triumphed on the cross, I can overcome every form of demonic bondage that would seek to thwart my destiny. I claim that victory right now.
