BE HOLY

Share this:

But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior.
— 1 Peter 1:15

To be holy means to be set apart and unlike the world. It is to be peculiar and cut out from the rest. In other words, as children of the King, we are to look different, talk different, and be different.

One way I have chosen to show I am set apart is to grow out the side locks of my hair, which are called peyot. I know some people think this is a bit strange, but I believe I am called to be a shaliach, a sent-out one or messenger, of Yeshua in the earth. I have to be set apart to convincingly convey the unique ministry God has given me.

The same is true for you. I am not suggesting you grow peyot but that you live separate from the world and fully unto Jesus. By doing so, others will recognize that you are different, and God will use your uniqueness to draw people to Himself. Of course, this may cost you. Some may mock and reject you for being different and declaring your faith. But you are in good company. Yeshua was ridiculed and even crucified, but He overcame, and so will we! Beloved one, let us make it a priority to submit ourselves as holy vessels unto God. We have been chosen to be set apart so that through our lives God’s light will shine in the darkness.
