ANOINTED TO SERVE

Share this:

And He opened the book and found the place where it was written, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor…to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”
—Luke 4:17–19, emphasis added

In today’s verse, Yeshua said the Spirit of the Lord had anointed Him to… Anointings come to equip us to fulfill a purpose. Jesus was anointed to preach, set free, and reveal God’s favor. So I want to ask you today, What are you anointed for?

The Bible says the Spirit has given each of us some type of spiritual gift we can use to serve others. If you don’t know how you are anointed to serve, ask Father God to show you. Ask Him what specific gifts, talents, or strengths He has imparted to you. When Father God shows you how He has anointed you, ask yourself, “How can I use this anointing to serve the Lord by serving the body of Jesus? What is my assignment?”

All of us are called to serve. Many people are only receiving, but following Yeshua is about more than being filled up with more of Him. It’s also about letting Him pour Himself out to others through us. Jesus said the one who serves is greater than the one who is served. So, beloved one, let’s identify our anointing, and then let’s step out and serve people.
