“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.””

Many times we don’t consider the fact that Jesus is bringing us into relationship with the Father. Jesus said, “No one comes to the Father but through Me.” You see, Jesus is the way, but Father God is the destination.

First John 3:1 says this: “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” (NKJV). And we read in Romans 8:14–16: “For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba! Father!’ The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.”

Abba is the Hebrew word for daddy or father. I believe this is how God wants us to relate to Him, as our loving

Father. Yes, God is our Creator and Redeemer, and yes, He holds all power in His hands. But He does not want your relationship with Him to be distant. He wants it to have the intimacy a loving father has with his children. So I want to encourage you to watch how you are praying. If you are only addressing Him as “God” when you pray or only praying to Jesus, begin to address God as Father. Jesus taught us to pray in this way: “Our Father who is in heaven” (Matt. 6:9).

The Father sent Jesus to bring us to Himself. Jesus is the way, but Abba is the destination.

Father God, You sent Jesus to bring me to You. I cry out to You right now, Abba! Daddy! I pray that You give me a deeper revelation of Your fatherly love for me.
