A Unique Anointing

“Thus says the Lord of hosts, “In those days ten men from all the nations will grasp the garment of a Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

—Zechariah 8:23

Zechariah here is speaking of what the Scriptures call the “last days” or the “end of the age.” The things the Bible prophesied thousands of years ago about the last days are coming to pass in our lifetime. Daniel, for example, prophesied that in the time immediately preceding the Lord’s return, people would be traveling to and fro, and our knowledge would be greatly increased. That’s what’s happening right now. Airline travel can get us anywhere in the world in less than two days, and we are living in the midst of the information age, with rapidly advancing internet and digital technologies.

These are the last days, and one of the things Zechariah prophesies about these times is that believers will recognize God’s supernatural call upon the Jewish people. You see, when Joseph was in Egypt, the whole nation was elevated because of him. Egypt was about to enter a season of famine, but because of the advice Joseph gave to Pharaoh, Egypt was able to survive the famine and prosper. Later, when Egypt threw the Jewish people out, their nation was destroyed. There’s a special anointing on the Jewish people. This is why the Lord said those who bless the Jewish people will be blessed (Gen. 12:3).

Jesus said in John 4:22, “Salvation is from the Jews.” Let’s recognize the key role the Jewish people play in these last days. The anointing of the Lord flows into the earth through specific channels, and one of those channels is Jewish believers who are living in the world today.

I want to encourage you to pray for the Jewish people. Pray for breakthrough in Israel. Pray for revival among young people in Tel Aviv. Beloved, let’s pray that the Jewish people would recognize Yeshua as the Messiah and come to salvation, because when they do, it will be like life from the dead for the entire church (Rom. 11:12–15).

Father God, thank You for the anointing You have placed on the Jewish people and the blessing they’ve been to the world. I pray for a supernatural breakthrough in Israel. May the Jewish people recognize Yeshua as their Messiah and usher in Your return.
