A SPIRIT OF EXCELLENCE

Share this:

Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.
— 1 Peter 4:11

Some professing Christians wave their faith in front of them like a big flag, yet aren’t committed to excellence in their lives and relationships. Beloved one, God is calling us to excellence. None of us is perfect, and I don’t want anyone to feel shame or condemnation. But I do want to call us to a higher standard.

Peter said whoever speaks or serves should do so as one speaking for or serving Christ Jesus. Let’s not use our Christianity as an excuse to not do our best. Some people think, “Oh, Jesus forgives,” and then use that as an excuse to be lukewarm and spiritually lazy. God is a God of excellence, and He has given us the power by His Spirit to operate in a spirit of excellency and fruitfulness so Yeshua can be glorified in our lives.

He has called us “by His own glory and excellence.”1 Father’s purpose is that people would look at believers and see something powerful, beautiful, special, and godly upon us and as a result they would look up to the Lord. I want to challenge you today to serve the Lord wholeheartedly. Let’s give God our best. He deserves nothing less.
