I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the gloryof His inheritance in the saints., the kingdom of God is within you.
—Ephesians 1:18, emphasis added
God’s call on our lives is so glorious, Paul’s prayer here is asking Father to open the eyes of our hearts so you and I can comprehend this. The hope of our calling is to be glorified with Jesus, be conformed to His image, and live forever in heaven. This eternal plan of God for you and me is so incredible that if we fully grasped it, we would be smiling from ear to ear every single day.
I know life can be hard. Pain and oppression are all around us, but we must remember this world is not our home. We are so valuable to God that He sent His Son into the world to be nailed to the cross in order to purchase us for Himself. Yeshua is coming back, and “eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
Beloved one, you and I have a reason to rejoice. We’re going home! We’re going to a place that’s better than anything we could ever dream. Let’s not lose sight of this eternal reality. Let’s look up and be glad. Our redemption draws nigh.
