“Neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— Romans 8:39, MEV
There are people who read the Scriptures and take promises given to specific people in particular circumstances and apply them to themselves. Not all promises in God’s Word are meant to be applied to all people at all times. But there are certain promises in Scripture that we can apply to ourselves and cling to. Today’s verse is one of them.
I don’t know about you, but life is often a mystery to me. I face seasons I don’t understand, and sometimes it can feel like no-man’s-land. But the promise in God’s Word is that regardless of what we’re experiencing now or what we’ll face in the future, nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God.
At times we may feel like we’re disconnected from God’s love, but that doesn’t mean we actually are. Feelings come and go and are not facts. Facts are defined by the Word of God. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”1 Beloved one, God loves you, and His love will never fail you. He has you safely in His arms, and He’s going to carry you all the way through this life, and then into His bosom in the very end.
