Pentecost is a defining Holy and Appointed day of the LORD that commemorates the powerful event of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Beloved it was and is a – “game changer.”
“When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting” (Acts 2: 1, 2).
Some of you may not know that Pentecost actually originated 1,500 years prior to the disciples gathering in the upper room in Acts 2. It is called in Hebrew – Shavuot. Ancient tradition tells us that on Shavuot God appeared to the children of Israel at Mt Sinai and gave them the Ten Commandments.
Because the Holy Spirit has been given, we now receive God’s revelation and the law of the Spirit (Romans 8:2), not on tablets of stone, but upon our hearts.
“THIS IS THE COVENANT WHICH I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, DECLARES THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEARTS, AND WRITE THEM ON THEIR MIND” (Hebrews 10:16).
“But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people” (Jeremiah 31:33).
Father gave us His Spirit to empower, equip, mentor and abide in us! The gift of the Spirit is our breath; it is our life. Without the Spirit, we cannot truly know Him.
Jesus said,
“I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them at the present time. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take from Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; this is why I said that He takes from Mine and will disclose it to you” (John 16: 12-15).
Truly, the gift of the Spirit enables us to know God.
Equally as significant is that the Spirit equips and anoints us to become witnesses. The reality is there are people all around us who do not know Yeshua. Beloved brother and sisters, we are running out of time. Let’s ask Father to open doors for us to be His ambassadors. Let us be faithful and obedient to share Jesus at every opportunity we have.
Father, we ask you to manifest the presence and power of Your Holy Spirit in and through our lives. We ask that You would draw us into the heart of Jesus. We pray that we would experience Your love for us individually, specifically, and personally so we would experience You like never before. Thank You for Your Spirit, Abba Yahweh. Father, give us fire to be Your witnesses. Make us to be like Jeremiah and not be able to hold our mouths shut (Jeremiah 20:9). Help us, Daddy, to be Your “light” everywhere that we go. Create opportunities for us to share Your Son, and give us the boldness to do it! Messiah Yeshua we want to obey You. We want to know You fully, and make You known. Amen.
